A team of six sailors from Leweston School secured the title of overall winning school against fierce competition at the Autumn Regatta at Portland.
The squad of pupils, ranging from Year 7 to Year 12 with nearly every year group in between represented, travelled to Portland to take on some of the region’s best school sailing teams.
Conditions were said to be demanding, but two of the school’s boats delivered standout performances, with one taking first place overall and the other finishing second overall.
The remaining two sailors provided excellent support, with their consistent results crucial in securing the team title for Leweston.
A Leweston School spokesperson said: “The victory is all the more impressive given the calibre of the other schools taking part, and it reflects the commitment, teamwork and skill of the whole squad.
“It was also a fine example of sailors of different ages racing together and supporting one another, with younger team members learning from older pupils.”
Leweston is a Catholic boarding and day school near Sherborne in Dorset, welcoming pupils of all faiths from 0 to 18.
