Shebbear College is celebrating the achievements of two pupils who represented their countries at the prestigious Pony Club Nations Cup during the Osberton International Horse Trials.
Neve Webber (Lower Sixth) and her horse Hey Dixie, represented England in the 2* competition, where her team claimed victory in the Nations Cup. Neve also achieved a third-place individual finish.
Meanwhile, Isobel Thrasher (Year 11) represented Ireland in the 1* competition, playing a key role in helping her team secure a fourth-place finish. She also enjoyed individual success, finishing an excellent fourth.
Neve said: “The atmosphere was amazing and I worked really hard and to get the clear round, which was such a relief! The showjumping is so nerve wracking, everyone’s watching and if a pole falls then you’re out. I hold my breath the whole time!”
Isobel, who has been riding her horse Bonza King of Rouges since she was 13, added: “It’s an incredible feeling to be selected to represented for your country. A once in a lifetime opportunity! To wrap up the season on a high at such a big event was very cool.”
Both Neve and Isobel are sport scholars at Shebbear College where scholarship applications are now open for pupils currently in Year 6, Year 8 and Year 11. For more information, visit the scholarships page.
