Sexey’s School has recruited Tom Tuthill as its new Head of Boarding, who joins them after spending eight years as a Housemaster at Malvern College.
Before joining Malvern, Mr Tuthill worked at Bloxham School as Director of Sport and Head of the Lower School.
A spokesperson for Sexey’s School, a state school in Somerset, said: “Tom is a passionate advocate of boarding education. He understands the importance of creating a welcoming, supportive environment where young people can develop confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging.
“Throughout his career, he has placed great value on building positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues, and on the everyday experiences that make boarding life so rewarding.”
As part of his plans for Sexey’s, Mr Tuthill wants to raise awareness of the school’s boarding and encourage more families to discover what it has to offer.
Mr Tuthill, who joined the school last month, said: “It has been wonderful to settle into life at Sexey’s and get to know our boarders, staff and wider school community.
“I have been made to feel incredibly welcome and have already seen what makes boarding here so special. I am excited about building on these strong foundations, invigorating and enhancing our boarding offer, and creating even more opportunities for our students to thrive.
“My aim is to ensure boarding continues to be a true home from home, where every student feels valued, supported and encouraged to develop independence, confidence and lasting friendships.”
Sexey’s is a Church of England co-ed state boarding and day school for ages 11-18, located in the countryside at Bruton, Somerset.
