Dauntsey’s Announces Conservatoire-in-Residence Partnership with the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama

Posted: 1st April 2026

Dauntsey’s has announced a significant new partnership with the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD), which will become the school’s Conservatoire in Residence from Spring 2026.

RWCMD is internationally regarded for excellence in music, drama and production arts training.

The collaboration aims to inspire and support young people interested in the arts, whether on stage or behind the scenes, and to raise awareness of the diverse career pathways available within the cultural and creative industries. The programme will offer Dauntsey’s pupils access to specialist mentoring, performance support, workshops, and opportunities to visit RWCMD and engage with its staff and students.

Kevin Price, Director of Open RWCMD, said:
“We want young people to understand that their passions and talents can lead to fulfilling futures. Many students may not be aware of the range of opportunities available within the arts, or have the contacts they need to explore them. We are excited to develop our partnership with Dauntsey’s through mentoring sessions, performance support from RWCMD students, and opportunities for Dauntsey’s pupils to attend performances, take part in workshops and meet RWCMD staff.”

Alison Jury, Director of Music, Dauntsey’s, commented:
“We have been fortunate to welcome RWCMD to Dauntsey’s on numerous occasions in the past, but to now have such a respected and dynamic institution as our Conservatoire in Residence is an exceptional opportunity for our pupils and for our department. We look forward to nurturing this partnership in the years ahead as it enriches our musical and performing arts provision in meaningful ways.

“It is also a joy to welcome back several Old Dauntseians who are now studying at RWCMD. To see them returning in a professional capacity, mentoring younger pupils and sharing their experiences, is both inspiring and reassuring for those who aspire to follow in their footsteps.”

The partnership reflects Dauntsey’s ongoing commitment to providing outstanding creative opportunities and supporting pupils who wish to pursue careers in the arts.
